The Canadian Truck Nationals, I don't know if it was the organizers trying to eliminate the partying, or if it's reputation for partying made the venues turn it down. The last one they had was held in the parking lot at a Truck Stop, none of the regulars that I know even considered going to that one.

I've been going to vanfest for about 10 or 11 years now. hell i remeber when it was all vans and like a handfull of trucks. those old timers sure can party. i'm actually somewhat upset that we seem to be outnumbering them now, i liked when we were the oddballs there and they took us in with open arms unlike the usual old guys with muscle cars and rods at local cruise ins. a buddy of mine and i actually stumbled upon it by accident one year trying to find north of the border bash.. been going ever since. as for the truck nats, part of the reason a lot of people didn't go the last year was the outrageous entrance fee for a show that was clearly on its death bed. wasn't it like 40 bucks or something?

I wouldn't know, the last time I entered that one was '93 (it was $30 then) in the hard luck class 'cause I'd rolled my truck a month before (there were over 1000 trucks that year so atleast it was worth the price of admission) and I've only gotten back into it about 2 years ago So in the meantime I've been riding in the passenger seat or go purely as a spectator.
