Ontario custom truck enthusiast between rides
Whats up everyone,
I'm Kris, new to the whole forum thing. Have to admit its my girlfriends fault. I've been building my own and friends rides for years. It wasn't until My gf and I got together that she showed me how handy these forums can be. I have always been a chevy guy so when her and I tackeld laying out her 01 ranger out on 20's, it was a bit out of the norm for me. Ranger Power Sports came in real handy for us for tips and exploring other peoples builds to decide what plan of attack was best for us. Since then I have become a member of streetsource, lowclasscustomz and now minitruckin.ca. I started out with a '91 ext cab s10 when I was 16. I dropped it down to 2" off the ground static and rolled that way for about 2 years. My buddy and I welded a blazer tailgate and one off rollpan to seal up the back end and just a full new gm chrome front end. After a lady, blinded by the sun, wrote that off as it was parked I moved on. After that I built my '90 reg cab stepside. That took over 5 years considering it was also my daily for most of the build. 22 x 10's full sheetmetal bedfloor and custom inners got the clearance taken care of, ART tubular arms, Belltech spindles and Slam re8's layed out the front. KP 6 link took care of the back and a custom gas tank crossmember I hand made out of 2x2 square tubing made clearance for the driveshaft. Fuel cell and relocated battery tray under the bedfloor kept it kleen. Plummed the whole truck with 1/2 ID hydraulic line for fast air ride reponse. Ripped out all of the interior and dyed the panels and dashboard tan. Sanded the main dash pieces for days to get them smooth and painted them white, recovered the seats in tan Acura TL leather and emboidered Chevrolet with an old school chevron. Billet Specialties Wheel and interior accent pieces. Then after bad body work was done and shitty paintjob I was out of cash, couldn't afford to store it anymore and it wasn't ready to come home I was forced to sell it. At least one of my best friends picked it up off me and is finishing it up. He should have it all ready soon and will probably roll out to Performance world 2010. In the mean time I picked up a 2007 colorado as my daily driver. I stuck a rollpan, billet grille, SS mirrors, and a 2/3 drop for now. I have springs at home to go in in the spring and will de-arch the rear leafs to get her closer to the tarmac. Also a Clarion double-din deck controls the Polk audio mids and highs and a Clarion 300w mono amp drives one dual voice coil clarion sub through a DB link 2 pharad cap. My girlfriend and I have just recently moved to Dundas (hamilton area) from the durham region because my position has been relocated to the hamilton airport. Her truck is now in storage down here for the winter. Next on the agenda for her truck is Z-ing the front frame section and ditching the DJM arms for one off tubular ones. I will upload pics of our rides soon, fell free to add me on facebook search: Minimal Clearance or check out pics of her truck build at Autofocus Photography by Kristina Doyle- powered by SmugMug Looking forward to seeing you all at shows across canada and the u.s.

I'm planning on dropping it at least 2 more inches, it doesn't even look low to me with the high fenders. But I'm definately not ruling out bags and probably a body drop. Just not this year. We want to get a house first. Plus Kristina and I are gonig to Z the front frame section of her ranger, new tubular arms are getting made and planning to bodydrop her cab before I touch mine. SO unless I find another project or we finish up hers then I will probably just drop it another 2 inches. Also looking at 22" KMC slides, Extreme grille and Street Scene SS bumper. I also picked up a spare tailgate and ordered a Grant Customs full tailgate skin to clean the back end up.
Nice truck though! And thanks for the offer too!
