I say if you can pull off the wide body, make it noticable but yet keep it clean, go for it (if you can't don't even atemt it). I'm getting tired of seeing trucks with the same 'over the counter mods'. When you bag it, you spend countless hours and cash doing it and it's all covered by the body so for the average person that doesn't know what it takes to do that, all they see is a shiny truck sitting in the weeds. If you do some never seen before body mods or custom paint, that's what the average person notices.

ok, I hear what everyones saying but believe me, The bed widening is much less work than axel shortening. Faaaak shorter axel, I want it low and wide, I would put a dulie rear in it if I could find one...
I tacked everything on, and cut it once it was tacked, then I fabbed up the other rail by using the first one as a jig, Because I wanted them EXACTALLY the same.... For the bed, **This is a verry basic discription of how im doing it, DO NOT COMMENT ON IT LIKE IM DOING SOMETHING WRONG BY THE DISCRIPTION GIVEN, IM ONLY GIVING A QUICK DISCRIPTION*** I will be cutting the out side of the bed off, and pulling it out by like an 1.5"-2" welding it back together... I am not mashing flairs on it, Im not "widebodying" it in the tuner kid sense, Im actually flairing the factory steel bedsides. Just enough to get the wheels in it...

So your talking something like this?
This one is a 4" flare if your only doing 2" you should be able to keep the top rail straight. I'd be temped to cut along the line where the panel flares out and add your 1.5-2" there. It'll look simular to a 2000 Silverado step side. ![]() Of coarse if you were to cut out the Mazda wheel opening and weld on a Ford one, you could gain your 1.5" (2" may be pushing it) But it's not my truck, it's yours so don't let anybody tell you what you 'should' do to it.

Naw your all not thinking simple enough. Theres a super simple way to flair it with out all this un-needed drama... alls gotta be done. is cut out inner support, widen, weld back in... its so simple.... Youll all see dont worry, but yes, kinda like that off roader.

Oh, and kris, the trucks coming good, I just need a lil more steel... So i gotta do some shit and get the metal... I should be getting it this week, so Ill be back in the fab sattel this week... but the drivers side is done, and the passenger side is going to be an exact replica of the drivers (vice versa just dont wanna re type it.) so itll be done some time REAL soon... Maybe when you and the lady get back we can take a look at it and see if im on the right track still?

ya man for sure we can stop by.
But 1 question though if I'm seeing you idea right. If you widen the inner support won't your tailgate be to narrow to fit the bedsides?

yeah thats another good point. you could shave the fwd step so it looked like a dually. But then your still looking at stretching the bumper and tailgate to line up. If thats what Kyle is thinking
