Rebuilding Lyinlow

well after having the truck out and showing it a bit, and a sucessful drive to Indy one year, i have started to rebuild the truck with the help of fellow club member 90yota.. plans include a complete new frame, toy clip, lincoln irs , convert it to shortbox and tuck some 20's under it! anyway heres some pics of it before then followed by the buildup pics!

thats all for now.. this weekend ill have some more pics for your viewing pleasure!

damn trev those look sweet . what upper bj is that? and do they fit the stock yota spindles?

Those look like moog K772, same as the ones I used for my datsun. Yes they fit the toyota spindle.

ok fellas heres the update!!! frame is complete.. minus some crossmembers.. now its onto suspension! anyways heres some pics!

bending for the rear oval

after all the bending here it is tacked up

now onto welding it all up.. all i have is a pic of me welding on it.. chris did most of the welding on it...

all welded up ready to go on the frame...

and here it is on the frame... im so stoked at how this turned out!!!!!!!!!!!

Theres the progress for now fellas.. more to come soon!!

Formed the outer oval first? Did you make a seperate jig for the inner plate and then just drop it in?

Definitely different!

yep we formed the outer one first, and then we used the scrap that came out of the middle of the oval to form the inner , then just dropped it all together..

I thought is was gonna be a huge pain in the ass making that oval, but once we got started, it went together rather easily.....
