The area where I need to build shock mounts is pretty ugly on these cars so i modified it to give me a better surface and a little more clearance to work with.

In the front of the upper arm mounts there was a big open section so i filled that in:

Notches welded up and the front shocks are done.

Its a little tight with the steering box but everything clears.

I have the rear mounts tacked in right now but I'm not 100% happy with them so I'm going to try a different idea once the body is test fit again, since I'm not sure if it will clear the floor or not.

So now I'm waiting for the drivetrain so I can build the trans crossmember, mock up the driveshaft and test fit the body and cut the driveshaft tunnel.

what were you thinking about changing with the brackets?
the four link will work well to stop the axle from twisting from having the bags pushing down fwd of the axle. Looks like it will work to me? Of course other than it the floor if it ends up being in your way.

This is impresive work for a shop up here man! I wish there was a shop in Ontario that would do this kind of work for the guys around here that can't do it themselves.
It seems like unless its bolt in or an internet sale nobody wants to do it. That and all the shops that wanted to do it didn't survive...

Yeah its not a very lucrative market LOL. Having the custom parts ends of things help out though since I do work for people all over the US. Hopefully jobs like this will get my name out a little more than just being a minitruck builder and some more older guys will start to trust me to cut up their cars.

The axle brackets will stay the same. Right now I have the upper shock mounts coming straight off the bridge, but I would ideally like to move them up and inch or so to allow a little more travel and so the shocks arent bottomed out when the car is at its lowest. There is a step in the floor that the brackets will need to clear so I'll just wait until the body is test fit again to build them.

[QUOTE=iLLblazer;49529] Hopefully jobs like this will get my name out a little more than just being a minitruck builder and some more older guys will start to trust me to cut up their cars.

Yeah older guys are very particular when it comes to cutting up their rides. They don't mind letting anyone install a name brand in their cars ( Air Ride Technologies) but custom wise they like shops that are recommended and have seen their works. I'm sure with this one you will impress them.

Im guessing from the pics there isn't any room on the outside of the frame rails for the shocks eh? Not like this guy is going to be hammering through corners...
