Pull me in haha

Well Joel you can add me and Itski(sp) to the list for getting an inspection, both of us had our trucks completely inspected down portage.

heres my story:

cop pulls me over asks me where my switches are, i showed him they were in the center console, then he asked to put the truck down, i said i dont have to, he said if you dont then im towing it, i said im not putting it down, he then freaked out on me, and said fine your trucks getting inspected i said alright. While i was waiting it line an inspector comes up to me and says put it down so I do, frame hits the ground, guy says ok you need bumpstops and walks away. Its finally my turn to go up the ramps, look under my truck front and back blah blah blah, in the end they got me for a burnt out turn signal (which i knew about) a burnt out licence plate light (which i didnt know about), bumpstops and my front wheels hitting the shock when fully turned, so i need to get new shocks because they said the ones i have are too damaged. So all in all i think thats not bad, could be a lot worse like a tow job or something, Im not sure what happened to Itskis truck because he was further behind me. Now i got two weeks to fix all this.

just thought id let you know Joel because you seem to be on top of this standing up for the mini truckin community.

not much to fix, and sounds like you handled it pretty decently, although, I dont know if you needed to dump it at all when getting inspected.

Itzke had a bunch of shit wrong. lol They told hin to just go home.

I have been trying to make a appointment to get a re inspection but do you think they will call me back? i have litterally left 10 messages. I have bump stops now (not even fun to drive it anymore) and everything else is simple to fix.

Why don’t you guys just dump 20 psi out and tell them that that’s it, as low as she goes. If they question it just tell them you have air for ride quality not to lay frame. Even toss in a "lowriders are gay". How could they argue with you?

Flea Whiskeys on portage.

They were out in full force lastnight, never had so many dirty looks by cops in my life, haha. But I didn't get pulled over.

Did this during my inspection, constable WARD threw in the "at least you aren't like those other idiots, with frames hitting the ground" comment... little does he know

This is becoming harassment, I have seen the way Romes drives you can't tell me he got pulled in for driving like an idiot...

Pulling us over really makes the streets better alright, with the tons of rust buckets on the roads. Why don't we ever see any Hot Rods being pulled over for inspections? I'm sure tons of those vehicles have 'unsafe' features, sorry just frustrated as shit...

Keep trying, maybe they can give you an extension then....

Question guys, since this is the first time I have had a vehicle inspected by cops.... ever....

What happens if the 14 day period comes and goes? I know your insurance is null and void (complete bullshit IMO) but do you just go down to the same place get it re-inspected and then re-insure the vehicle? or what?

LOL @ keep trying. I have literally left them 15 messages, no lie. All last week, all weekend and now today. Im ready to be inspected. Such bullshit.

I dont know what happens after the 14 days, i would assume you need to get like a day pass to get it down there. Ill let you know though since thats what I am going to have to do unless they call me back (LOL)

Wow thats BS that they wont call you back.

When sterz got called in, he phoned and asked for an extension and they gave him one. But I was still to busy to get it looked at and he didnt call back again so he let it pass. He had to go get it safetied again to put it back on the road, but he didnt have to go to vehicle inspection.

Euter just call for an extension if its going to run over your holidays, I THINK but not sure they pull the insurance from the vehicle if you dont get it inspected within the 14 day period, but the thing is you could use all your messages as a fight back, your making the effort to get it inspected and there not responding. I think there overwelmed with inspections now they dont have time to do them all haha. There was literally a 6 car wait the entire time i was there, it was as if after a car was done its inspection a cop car would pull out onto portage and pull over whatever it could.

Lastnight it wasnt just customized vehicles, they were pulling over everything. There were muscle, imports, rust buckets, hot rods, trucks (high and low) all getting inspected. Some things as simple as window tint and then some who had to drive your vehicle onto this steps so people could look under it, brody said at one day time there was 5 guys underneath the back of my truck looking over my suspension, makes me laugh.

Corey - I know we dont have to lower it for the cops, but I thought if i didnt lower it for the people doing the inspection then Id def be getting towed. Joel do you have a comment about this? I was up in the air about this. But like Shane we could lower it till we know we will pass scrub line.

Well bring humor to the forum: Funniest line all night was the cop says drop it i say no and hes like do it im like i dont have to drop it for you guys and hes like "well if a piece of steel rod flies off the road and hits the bag and rips it your frame cant hit the ground." Seriously of all things... steel rod haha, how often do you see that. I swear some guys have no clue what there talking about.

Joel: I dont know who your talking too but in my opinion the cops are the dicks. The inspection guys were actually pretty good about everything. The obviosuly have a list of things to look for and thats all they did.

Yeah I have no problem with the inspection guys looking over trucks and pulling the turds off the road. They just need to lose the mentality that air bags just blow up and that trucks need to be fully functional with no air in the system. Its like they think your vehicle will just careen off the road into some sort of armageddon like catastrophe if you were to have an air system failure.

You should have asked the guy what would happen if that same piece of steel rod took out a brake line on a totally stock vehicle. because thats more likely.
