Gas Filler Neck Removal

So I need to remove my gas filler neck so I can run my hydro cylinder. I have never removed one of these before and rather not "learn" on my car. Anyone have any tips so I don't screw it up?

yeah its pretty straight fwd. Theres a big line a small line ( hose clamps) some screws holding the neck in. And a ground strap usually.

Do you have to relocate it?

I guess a better question is, if I got 2 hose clamps and some rubber hydro hose from an industrial shop down the road would that work? Or is there a specific material I need?

Yeah those work.
For Kristina's truck last year we just used a piece of Rad hose that fit to cover a 3" gap we had from the neck to the filler port since we relocated it. Probably going to change it out this year fro specific hose if its eaten away any.

Just make sure that what ever hose you use is rated petrolium based chemicals, rad hose will break down after a while (being that the gas doen't sit in there it will last a while but will eventually detearate). Hydro hose might work, but being that it is made for high pressure, it will be hard to bend to the correct shape.

Even if you go to the wreckers and find one off of a full size pick/up the right shape, that way you won't have a kinking problem.

yeah thats a good Idea!
go to the scrap yard and look up under a few vehicles and see if any of them match your required design

the scrap yard is a few blocks away I will have to check it out. I think I may have solved the issue, but it may spring up when I go to cycle the suspension.

I just need some clearance between the cylinders and the gas filler neck. I ment that I may have to check out the wreckers to see if I can get a piece of gas filler hose that has the bends I need.
